Simone Clarke, former General Manager for Employee Sustainability at Telstra, recently joined World Animal Protection as the Country Director for Australia and New Zealand, based at the charity’s Sydney office.

With more than 20 years’ experience working in sustainability, global fundraising, international partnerships, corporate affairs, communications and marketing for the not-for-profit and corporate sectors, Simone brings a wealth of experience to World Animal Protection.

“I’m determined to build on the great work which has been achieved by World Animal Protection in Australia and New Zealand,” said Clarke.

“I look forward to taking the organisation to the next level, where we can truly leverage our brand, campaigning and fundraising to mobilise people to protect animals around the world.”

Having led teams in Australia, the USA and across the Asia Pacific region, Clarke’s most recent experience includes four years with Telstra as General Manager for Employee Sustainability, the General Manager of Corporate Partnerships, Major Donors, Trusts and Foundations at Mission Australia, and General Manager for Corporate Affairs, Communications and Strategy at the GWS Giants.

World Animal Protection, from its 14 offices around the world, is working with businesses, governments, local partners and other animal welfare organisations to find practical ways to prevent animal suffering worldwide.

The charity collaborates with national governments and has formal relationships with international bodies including the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the United Nations Environment Programme, the Council of Europe and the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).
