New food app helping charities raise funds

A new food app has launched that makes dining out more “affordable and charitable”.

The restaurant loyalty and rewards app is now available in Sydney and Melbourne. Users can immediately share some or all of the credit they earn with a charity. Liven has secured partnerships with the RSPCA, National Breast Cancer Foundation, beyondblue and Royal Melbourne Children’s Hospital Foundation, among others.  You can use Liven to pay for a restaurant bill the same way you pay for an Uber ride; simply request the bill on your phone then swipe to pay and you’re instantly rewarded with cash credit.

“Australians love a great meal out with their family and friends. So why not get more value from these experiences? Liven combines the best of both worlds – being rewarded for doing things you already love and a new way to contribute to life-changing charity work,” says Liven co-founder, Grace Wong. “Apps already exist for delivery. We wanted to revolutionise the way you dine out, from discovery through to rewards and cashless payment.”

Liven plans to launch in Perth later this year and are eyeing a US expansion for 2018.

The Liven app is free and available for download on the Google Play Store and App Store.
