“The Big Clash” is back

“The Big Clash” is a special 20/20 charity cricket match put on by UnLtd that will take place on Thursday next week.

Rival media owners and agency heads will put the media game aside next week, when they take to the field for the return of the “The Big Clash”.

UnLtd CEO Steve Taitoko said the event was a stand-out example of the industry putting competition aside, to realise its potential to change young lives.

In 2016, 100 per cent of funds raised will go to support Desert Pea Media, an UnLtd charity which uses hip hop and documentary projects, to allow at-risk young people to explore complex cultural and social issues.

“Music and video is a really effective way to get through to these young people. Through the power of media, and the creation of videos and music, our industry is supporting Desert Pea Media to further develop their unique approach to cultural education in remote indigenous areas,” said Taitoko.

Desert Pea Media’s videos form a series of powerful campaigns that encourage change through collaboration in remote communities. Reaching 1.3million views on YouTube and in the 60+ communities Desert Pea Media have worked with, school attendance rates have increased by 70% and personal impact is immeasurable.

Each competing organisation is pledging generous funds to UnLtd as part of their event participation.

The first big clash in 2015, raised $25,000, UnLtd is hoping to raise even more this year.

UnLtd is a not-for-profit philanthropic foundation representing the media, marketing and advertising community. UnLtd’s role is to harness the wealth, talent and influence of the industry and channel this to support the most creative and innovative organisations that work with at risk young people.
