ANZ announced that its Community Foundation has granted $250k to 16 charitable organisations to deliver projects that support financial wellbeing, housing access and environmental sustainability.

For every dollar ANZ employees contribute to the Foundation the Bank matches it with an additional two dollars. Since 1988 more than $5m has been granted to charities in local communities around Australia.

Chair of the Foundation Sarah Stubbings said: “It is great to see so many ANZ staff contributing some of their pay each week to make a difference to the lives of people and communities across the country, particularly in such a difficult year.”

According to her, the breadth and creativity of the projects put forward this year demonstrates how passionate local charities are about improving access to housing, improving people’s financial wellbeing and supporting sustainable environments.

“We are pleased to support the charitable sector every year but especially this year as it has struggled with restrictions on fundraising events, volunteering drives and in-person programs,” Ms Stubbings said.

This year 16 grants were made ranging from $5,000 to $30,000 – six in Victoria, three in New South Wales, two in Queensland and Western Australia, and one in each Northern Territory, Tasmania and South Australia.

Here are details of the 16 grants with corresponding amounts received.
