Announcing Maree’s appointment, ACF Chairman Sarah Hosking said “Maree is an exceptional leader. She is a passionate advocate for social change in Australia and is well known for her collaborative leadership style.”

Maree brings over 20 years of experience to ACF having worked across the health, sport and non-profit sectors, with her last three roles being at the Executive level of national organisations.

“Maree has substantial commercial experience and a deep understanding of member-based organisations. She is a perfect fit for ACF and will be an invaluable asset as we continue working to enable engaged philanthropy,” Ms Hosking said.

Maree was previously the General Manager of Australia’s largest health and sports initiative, Good Sports, and prior to that role she was the Head of Communications and Public Relations at Headspace. During her time at Headspace, Maree was a member of the original Executive Team that worked with member organisations to create the National Youth Mental Health Foundation.

In her time at Headspace, Maree established the brand and identity for the organisation and the thirty original Headspace Centres, including online environments and social media platforms that are still used today.

Reflecting on the appointment, Ms Sidey said “I’m truly thrilled to have been selected to lead ACF and continue driving the organisation and the community foundation model forward. For over 20 years, ACF has been working to make philanthropy easy and accessible – I’m excited to have the opportunity to continue this work and to help people give something of real value back to their communities.”
ACF offers individuals, families, groups, corporations and not-for-profit organisations an easy and satisfying way of providing support to communities and causes they care about. Drawing on extensive knowledge and networks, ACF makes grants that meet the charitable objectives of donors and address needs in the community.
