New Australian Charity appoints International Media House owner

International Media House is proud to announce that owner Lewis Cambridge is the newly appointed director of a brand new Australian charity: Bene Civitas Ltd. Focused on assisting the families of disabled children with high-care requirements, the charity will be taking steps to provide lifelong, stable accommodation for disabled children and adults.

Supported by Bene Civitas, Australian families will have the opportunity to purchase a life lease in a gated development specifically designed for high-needs individuals. This will include a community house for residents to meet friends, enjoy meals, and participate in activities. The community house may also be used by external charity groups for social, fundraising and other events.

Describing the new charity, director Lewis Cambridge said: “Bene Civitas will help build integrated communities where parents of disabled children can congregate and find support.”

By offering families access to appropriate housing in supportive communities, Cambridge explained that Bene Civitas will provide parents with a facility that will not require the relocation of their disabled adult child when their parent dies or can no longer look after them.

“Our objective is to provide an environment that will support the autonomy of disabled children and secure a safe future for them, instead of the possibility of their being displaced and put into foreign surroundings, such as aged care facilities,” said Cambridge.

As well as liaising with community support groups and charities to provide activities and services to residents, Bene Civitas is appointing a real estate management company to manage construction and leases for these speciality properties. The charity will also provide financial support directly to parents, trustees and disabled adults as needed.
