Big Brothers Big Sisters is a mentoring program for vulnerable young people. The program provides young people in need of additional support, guidance and friendship with a volunteer mentor who acts as a long-term positive role model.

The Big Brothers Big Sisters treasure hunt will be conducted using Geo-caching technology, a variation of global positioning technology (GPS), and will be held on 22 May 2011.

The charity event is the first of its kind in Australia and will be the fundraising event of the Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring program.

Run twice already by the Big Brother Big Sister team in Canada, the event has been likened to The Amazing Race, but with the technology. Big Brother Big Sister Australia anticipates the participation of over 200 people in the hunt.
