Indigenous Business Month 2022 is here with the theme “ACTIONS TODAY, IMPACT TOMORROW”!

Celebrating nationally, its 8th year is set to inspire the next generation of First Nations business leaders. Indigenous Business Month is an initiative driven by the alumni of Melbourne Business School’s MURRA Indigenous Business Master Class program, who see business as a way of providing positive role models for young Indigenous Australians and improving the quality of life for Indigenous communities.

The initiative is supported by 33 Creative, MURRA Indigenous Business Master Class Program and Iscariot Media.

Acknowledging and celebrating each business owner’s journey, Indigenous Business Month encourages Indigenous business leaders and the community to share their story, and lived experiences, to inspire the next generation of business leaders to continue their collective momentum.

To kick off the festivities, they are highlighting some Indigenous businesses that are living and breathing this year’s theme “ACTIONS TODAY, IMPACT TOMORROW”.

Such as Sobah Australia, an Aboriginal-owned and managed non-alcoholic craft beer company, First Australians Capital led by a team of Indigenous leaders, and Mayi Harvests, a sustainable and ethical Indigenous Australian business grounded in ancestral knowledge.

Indigenous Business Month is about events and collaborative spaces where business owners, sector stakeholders and all allies who support Indigenous economic empowerment come together to applaud Indigenous business success in all its diversity,” said Co-founder of Indigenous Business Month  Dr Michelle evans.

As a business owner today, we’re paving the way for the young people around us to learn, creating a ripple effect for our sector and opportunities for their future. I’m excited about the next generation of leaders and amplifying the impact for our sector,” said Co-Founder of Indigenous Business Month and Director of 33 Creative Mayrah Sonter.

Indigenous Business Month calls upon the Indigenous Business Sector and its allies to gather online and in person to continue the connection and celebration of First Nations business.
