Last chance to submit ACNC questions and opinions

Share

The commencement of the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profit Commission (ACNC) is just around the corner. Now is the time to clarify any lingering uncertainties or concerns to promote compliance in this new regulatory environment.

Third Sector is inviting not-for-profits (NFPs) to send in questions relating to the ACNC for the chance to have them answered them in a comprehensive e-guide.

Third Sector‘s ACNC e-guide will be a resource for the NFP sector and a platform for NFP leaders to voice their opinion on the reform and the ACNC.

This rare opportunity is free and involves submitting answers to the following questions:

1. Do you believe Australia’s NFP sector needs to be more tightly regulated? Why?

2. Are you looking forward to the implementation of the ACNC? Why?/Why not?

3. What are the advantages/disadvantages for registration with the ACNC?

4. What are the advantages/disadvantages of the proposed reporting requirements?

5. What are the advantages/disadvantages of having a statutory definition of charity?

6. In your opinion, what does the success of the new regulations depend on?

7. What is your opinion on the Federal Government’s long-term plan to expand the range of not-for-profit entities registered with the ACNC? Are you looking forward to or dreading this proposed expansion?

8. What is the biggest challenge that NFPs will face with regards to the ACNC over the coming year?

9. Do you feel as though the ACNC will adequately reflect NFPs needs?

10. Do you have any other comments you wish to voice on the issue?

The e-guide will have contributions from the ACNC Interim Commissioner and Head of the Implementation Taskforce Susan Pascoe, and the Federal Minister for Social Inclusion Mark Butler.
