Ovarian Cancer appoints new Director (Fundraising and Development)

Katrina Parker has joined Ovarian Cancer Australia as Director of Fundraising and Development. She has more than 13 years’ experience in the non-profit sector, most recently working with Breast Cancer Network Australia as Fundraising Manager.

“We are extremely pleased that Katrina is bringing to Ovarian Cancer Australia her expertise in strategy, stakeholder engagement, marketing and fundraising, together with her passion for our mission to save lives and ensure no woman with ovarian cancer walks alone,” said Jane Hill, CEO of Ovarian Cancer Australia.

Parker has previously worked for Diabetes Australia Victoria, Breast Cancer Network Australia, Diabetes Australia Victoria, The Smith Family, Anglicare Victoria, Comic Relief Australia, Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and Very Special Kids.

Barnardos Australia welcomes an Australian Idol as new ambassador

James Mathison, former host of Australian Idol and Wake Up, is the latest ambassador for Barnardos Australia.

Mathison chose Barnardos Australia as his charity of choice in the new series of Celebrity Apprentice on Channel Nine. He will face other celebrities including Gabi Grecko, Geoffrey Edelston and Sophie Monk in a series of challenges that will support a number of charity organisations.

Speaking about the appointment, he said he was very committed to Barnardos’ children and helping to do all he can to raise awareness of the cause.
