Specialist creative strategy agency Marlin Communications, announced its merger with Leafcutter. The two agencies share a focus on the for-purpose sector, and share a mission to use their skills to lead positive, progressive social change.

The two companies will combine at Marlin’s studio in Great Buckingham Street, Redfern under the leadership of Founders Karl Tischler, Dan Geaves and James Hornitzky.

Dan Geaves outlined their collective mission: “Around the world you can sense a growing discontent with political systems and corporate irresponsibility. For-purpose organisations offer a different way for people to shape their world and create the changes they wish to see. Our merger ensures that we are best placed to help those organisations looking to launch, or position themselves, as relevant in this shifting landscape. By combining our strategic creative services with strategic digital implementation, we will help our client-partners become more agile, and ensure we can offer support to small and medium sized organisations – not just the largest charities in Australia.”

In the past year Marlin has proven its strategic and creative leadership credentials by developing value proposition and product development methods for Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria and MS Research, while developing effective fundraising campaigns for industry leaders The Wilderness Society, Bush Heritage Australia, Vinnies and many more not-for-profit organisations.

Leafcutter is the lead digital partner for RSPCA NSW, Plan International Australia, and the developers of Starlight’s Livewire service for seriously ill young people.

James Hornitzky defined the merger in clear terms: “Our two teams already had a lot in common – we have just been operating in parallel spheres. It is exciting to bring them together to offer full responsibility for start-to-finish conceptual ideas and delivery. We are excited to become part of a reputable B-Corp Certified business. Both organisations have started work with social enterprises lately, an exciting and growing part of our sector.”

The merger builds one of Australia’s largest creative agency dedicated to helping charities and social enterprises grow their support base and change the world.
