Australian Business Arts Foundation Awards

The Australian Business Arts Foundation (AbaF) Awards aim to acknowledge and profile good practice in relationships between the arts and business. Two new awards have been announced this year to recognise the connections between the arts and health, and the arts and the environment.

The new Arts and Health Foundation Award honours partnerships between healthcare organisations and arts organisations that improve health and wellbeing.

The Visy Arts and Environment Award, developed in collaboration with the Banksia Environmental Foundation, honours partnerships between businesses and the arts that contribute to environmental sustainability.

AbaF CEO Jane Haley said “These new awards will show effective partnerships can deliver real change for our communities.

“We hope that both new awards will honour successful partnerships and raise awareness to help attract more partnerships and donations for similar programs.”

Our Community’s Kookaburra Awards

Our Community’s Kookaburra Awards offer prizes to those that make a difference and that stretch people’s vision of what’s possible in Australian society today.

The Awards aim to recognise those that are “a little loud, a bit raucous, sometimes slightly unpleasant on the ear and impossible to ignore”.

In 2010 there will be three categories: community groups, projects and individuals.

Our Community is a social enterprise that provides advice and tools for Australia’s 600,000 community groups and schools, and practical linkages between the community sector and the general public, business and government.
