Publishing guru to head Melbourne Festival Board

Wheeler and her husband founded Lonely Planet in 1973, now the world’s largest travel publishing company and is an advocate of the arts.
“This festival has always been a highlight of our city’s cultural calendar and the wide range of events offer the chance to experience the weird, the wonderful, the popular and the obscure from all over the world. It is an honour to be asked to take on this role,” she said of the appointment.
