Royal Far West included 2023 AFR Best Places to Work in AU and NZ

Royal Far West (RFW) is included in the 2023 AFR Best Places to Work in Australia and New Zealand for an impressive third year in a row. 

“Winning the award for a third consecutive year is an incredible validation of the importance we place on employee wellness and mental health. 79% of our staff believe RFW prioritises the mental health of the team working for the organisation,” said Jacqui Emery, RFW CEO.  

Agreeing with the AFR, RFW believes that flexibility is such a key component of our work ethic and one in which RFW ranked highly in the 2023 Awards assessment.  

“We believe in harnessing the latest technology and systems that allow us to be agile, mobile and connected and over 80% of our staff believe they are free to do their job the way they think it can be best done.” 

The AFR awards highlighted the charity’s efforts in placing a high priority on the well-being of their employees.  

As an organisation that focuses on improving the health and well-being of country kids, they believe that the health and well-being of our team is equally important. 

“RFW has rich and deep history and we have such a diverse team of talented and passionate staff – from frontline multidisciplinary teams of occupational therapists, psychologists, speech pathologists, nurses and social workers through to the equally important support functions of IT, Fundraising & Marketing, Finance, People & Culture – everyone plays an important role.”  

The Award assessment was made up of a staff survey – which accounts for 50 per cent of the overall score – and a written submission, with questions relating to policies, practices and programs that exist within our organisation to support and seek the best from our employees.  

The methodology is underpinned by Inventium’s Workplaces of the Future framework, which identifies 10 key factors that are critical to employees feeling motivated and engaged at work and is supported by extensive Research. 

“Our People & Culture team have been outstanding in embedding a focus on respect and staff empowerment, impressively 86% of staff believe they fit in at RFW,” added Emery.
