Social enterprise launches grant program for the not for profit sector

Social enterprise, Community Business Bureau (CBB), is “walking the talk” when it comes to supporting the not for profit sector and the people it serves. As a not for profit that provides salary packaging and business consulting services to over 550 organisations nationally, CBB is proud to introduce their Community Business Grants program.

The program, which offers grants in the form of pro bono consulting support from CBB’s business consultants, is an opportunity for not for profits to access expert advice, at no charge.

Jane Arnott, CBB’s General Manager, Consulting & Business Services, expects the grant program to deliver long-term benefits to those organisations who are selected.

“Many smaller organisations lack senior internal specialists in areas such as finance or marketing, so they need external expertise from time to time. This current grant round offers three types of financial management consulting to help not for profits achieve a more detailed understanding of their organisation’s finances, helping them to identify risks and opportunities for the future.”

The three grants available are:
 Financial health check and analysis (two grants available)
 Financial budget for 2020/21 (two grants available)
 Finance for non-financial managers – online program (eight grants available)

Community Business Grants are just part of CBB’s support of the not for profit sector, with the organisation also providing scholarships, promoting board vacancies and arranging regular employee volunteering and fundraising opportunities.

Future grant rounds are also in their sights, with the consulting projects offered set to vary based on the identified needs of the sector.
