Non-profit organisations (NFPs) face an array of challenges, from the rising costs of service delivery to resource scarcity. These challenges necessitate innovative strategies and the ability to adapt to change.

Third Sector Live 2023, with the theme ‘Thriving through change: Strengthen your organisation for growth, resilience and financial sustainability’ brought together industry leaders and experts to discuss how NFPs needed to thrive through these challenges and strengthen their organisations for growth, resilience, and financial sustainability.

Third Sector’s 2-day conference, held on 12 – 14 September at Swissôtel Sydney, provided delegates valuable insights on how to navigate through change in the purpose-driven sector.

Attendees of the conference discussed topics around innovative social investment models that are centred on growth, resilience and financial sustainability.

Third Sector Live is a conference that helps CEOs and board directors develop strategic plans and network with their peers,” said Director at Communify Dai Gwynne-Jones.

Senior HR Advisor at CASPA Services, Tamika Miller highlighted how great it was to listen to leaders in the NFP space as well as some emerging business leaders.

“Love the term provided – Profit for Purpose,” said Miller.

Founder of Share the Dignity and Chair at Third Sector Live 2023 Rochelle Courtenay, spoke about the importance of volunteers within an organisation.

According to St Vincent’s Clinic Open Support CEO Katie Viviers, the conference offered two powerfully connected days to explore the themes of growth, resilience and financial sustainability with executives and senior leaders across the NFP landscape.

“Speakers shared detailed examples and were generous with their ideas and experiences,” added Viviers.

Soundfair CEO Caitlin Barr expressed her gratitude to Third Sector Live for the opportunity to learn from leaders within the NFP sector.

Operations and Client Services manager at Dress for Success Carrie Deane and Partnerships Manager at Raise Foundation Belinda Carson-Bourke expressed how powerful partnerships and connections are.

Presales Manager at Sage and Speaker at the conference, Justus Siage CPA talked about how to be financially resilient while keeping growth and sustainability in mind.

The most critical aspect of the non-profit sector is the ability to connect and engage with stakeholders. It’s time to ensure that your audience and stakeholders are not just connected but deeply engaged with your organisation and its profound societal impact.

Non-profit organisations will perpetually encounter hurdles, and leaders and experts within the NFP sector gained valuable insights on thriving amidst change by cutting through the noise and bolstering their organisations for growth, resilience, and financial stability.
