The Institute of Hospital Engineering Australia (IHEA) has appointed Association Management Institute’s Gregory Bondar as its Chief Executive Officer. IHEA is the professional organisation for engineers and engineering facility managers and consultants employed in the health care sector.

Social Ventures Australia (SVA) has announced Robin Crawford as the new Chair of the SVA Leadership Council. Crawford has supported SVA since its inception. He was a pioneering funder of the original SVA Boost! Fund in 2003, helped found and fund SVA Consulting in 2006 and has assisted in the GoodStart acquisition of 659 ABC Childcare centres of which he is Chair.

SVA CEO Michael Traill said “I look forward to working closely with Robin in sustaining the wonderful legacy of David Clarke, our founding SVA Leadership Council Chair, who provided such important support and guidance for our work.”

The Wheeler Centre has appointed Michael Williams as its new Director. Williams replaces Chrissy Sharp, the Centre’s inaugural Director since 2009 who is leaving the role to join her husband in Hong Kong where he has taken up a new appointment. Williams is currently the Wheeler Centre’s Head of Programming and has been with the Centre since its inception.

The Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association (APPEA) has completed an extensive search for the association’s new Chief Executive, appointing David Byers to the role. Byers brings experience from previous roles in the oil and gas industry after starting his career with Woodside and then holding senior management roles in Mobil and ExxonMobil. He was also appointed Chief Executive of the Committee for Economic Development of Australia in 2007.

Byers will succeed current Chief Executive Belinda Robinson, who has agreed to continue her role over a transitional period to ensure a smooth changeover. Robinson has been APPEA’s Chief Executive for the past six years.
APPEA Chairman Eric Streitberg said the association is delighted to welcome Byers on board. “We are confident David will provide strong and effective leadership of APPEA and advocacy for the industry.”

Third Sector wishes Bondar, Crawford, Williams and Byers well in their new roles.
