McGrath foundation has received over $195,000 from IGA. Over 1,300 IGA store owners across the country support their local communities and charities through the IGA Community Chest program, which raises funds through in-store purchases.

McGrath Foundation has received over $720,000 from IGA’s independent retailers since 2009.

Ben Ryan, Chairman of IGA National Council said, “This significant donation is the outcome of a great number of fundraising efforts across IGA’s network of independent retailers and their teams in stores across Australia.”

“It says a great deal about the local community support and enthusiasm to great causes by both our retailers and customers.

“IGA stores are independent small businesses run by locals that sit at the very heart of communities and we can’t thank our IGA customers enough for their generous and continued support. This has enabled us to fund two McGrath IGA Breast Care Nurses in country West Australia (Northam) and Victoria (Myrtleford).”

McGrath Foundation CEO Petra Buchanan said, “We are incredibly proud of our partnership with IGA and we are extremely grateful for the funds raised through IGA’s Community Chest program. This partnership allows our two IGA McGrath Breast Care Nurses to continue providing essential, free support to families experiencing breast cancer from the time of diagnosis and throughout treatment.”

This month IGA will be inviting shoppers to eat an apple to help IGA raise further funds for the McGrath Foundation.

Twenty cents from each specially marked pack of apples will be donated to the Foundation from 25 May – 21 June 2016.
