Australia Gender Equity (SAGE) appoints New CEO to lead Science

SAGE Limited welcomes Dr Janin Bredehoeft as the organisation’s new Chief Executive Officer.

Dr Bredehoeft, a well-respected and influential leader brings a wealth of experience and strategic capabilities in gender equity policy, research and education to SAGE Limited.

“Dr Bredehoeft will be an incredible asset to SAGE. Her advocacy, leadership and achievements position her well to grow SAGE’s impact and influence nationally and internationally,” said Libby Lyons, Chair of SAGE Ltd.

Dr Bredehoeft plays a key role in unlocking the potential of WGEA’s world-leading dataset building collaborations and partnerships to improve gender equity in workplaces.

“I’m honoured to lead SAGE in the next phase of its growth journey working with the team under the leadership of Chair Libby Lyons and the SAGE board,” said Dr Bredehoeft.

She highlighted that the outgoing CEO, Dr Wafa El-Adhami, has left a fantastic legacy and that she looks forward to building on the success of SAGE.

“I’d like to thank Dr El-Adhami for her inspirational leadership of SAGE, positioning it as a national transformation program and building its international reputation and network of partners. We wish Wafa all the very best for the future,” she added.

Dr El-Adhami shares her pride in the organisation’s achievements and credits her team for SAGE’s successes over the last six years.

“SAGE enables transformational change; I’m so proud of what we have achieved and extend warm congratulations to Dr Bredehoeft,” said Dr El-Adhami.
