It’s been nearly a year since the Australian Ethical Foundation has launched Giving Green, Australia’s first evidence-based giving guide to donating to Australia’s most impactful climate change charities. The initiative is funded by the Australian Ethical Foundation and supported by The Life You Can Save Australia.

Giving Green was created by a team of economists, data scientists, and climate experts with the objective of directing dollars and volunteers towards evidence-based projects that advocate combating the climate crisis. They identify effective projects that are supported by solid physical and social science, provide research and deliberations publicly and Enable fast and effective climate action in a single click.

Donating has never been easier! Giving Green recommends the most effective nonprofits and businesses fighting the climate crisis. Their recommendation target two key areas:

1. Policy Change
2. Carbon Offsets & Removals

As per their research policy advocacy is the most effective way to make a difference in the climate fight and recommend US and Australia-based groups such as
Beyond Zero Emissions, Farmers for Climate Action, Evergreen Collaborative, Carbon180 etc.

With the pressure for small and large businesses alike to take a stand against climate crisis, by pursuing “net-zero” goals. “Net-zero” is when businesses calculate their own emissions and buy carbon offsets to “cancel out” those emissions, these goals are best suited for businesses who do not have the leeway to give to policy-related efforts.
