Katherine Burchfield has been announced as Royal Far West Health Services Director.

Burchfield joins the organisation from the NSW Ministry of Health where she has held the position of Director, Integrated Care Branch since June 2013.

Royal Far West CEO Lindsay Cane said Ms Burchfield had strong experience and interest in integrated care, which aligns with Royal Far West’s vision.

“Integrated care is a key principle of our organisation and is at the heart of our service delivery. It’s something that we have been recognised for through various awards and is key to the development of our organisation.

“We believe Katherine’s experience will only strengthen this focus going forward. She will be an incredible asset to the organisation and a valuable member of our executive team,” she said.

Down Syndrome Australia welcomes new CEO Ruth Webber.

Webber worked in politics for many years as a campaigner, policy adviser, political party official and ultimately as a Senator for Western Australia. Since leaving the Senate, she has advised a number of peak not-for-profit organisations, and is currently Deputy President of the Mental Illness Fellowship of WA, and has served on the boards of Carers WA, Women’s Health Works and the ArtSound FM radio station.

“I’m hoping I can use whatever skills, networks and knowledge I have to bring the Down syndrome community’s issues to the attention of the government and other key decision makers, in the hope that we can all work together and build a more confident and secure future for people with Down syndrome,” said Webber.

Western Sydney Business Connection (WSBC) promotes Michael Sugg to CEO

“Michael has delivered on his proven reputation for transforming and growing member organisations both here in Australia and overseas,” explained WSBC Junior Vice President Brendon Noney.

“His engagement with our members and the wider community over the past 18 months has allowed WSBC to transform and deliver more relevant programs to its members and reinvigorate its presence in Western Sydney.”

Sugg will lead and manage the organisation’s growth and ensure it remains progressive, productive and relevant to its membership base. He will also lead the organisation’s new advocacy role, beginning with the campaign to ensure that the businesses of Greater Western Sydney directly benefit from the proposed billions of investment dollars being injected into the region.

Sarah Fregon appointed as new Victorian Bar CEO

Fregon has previously worked in private practice and as corporate counsel, including eight years at the Victorian Bar, and is currently PZ Cussons Australia and New Zealand General Counsel and Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, and is also the Chair of the Victorian Liquor Control Advisory Council.

“The Victorian Bar is delighted to welcome Ms Fregon, who has an impressive and successful track record in commercial law, dispute resolution, corporate governance and regulatory compliance, together with significant experience in the development of corporate strategy,” said Victorian Bar Chairman Jim Peters QC.

Fregon replaces outgoing CEO of seven years, Stephen Hare.
