Gurrumul Yunupingu Foundation Board welcomes Damian Trotter

The Gurrumul Yunupingu Foundation has appointed Damian Trotter as a new board member.
Trotter has had an extensive career in the music industry and is the current Managing Director of Sony/ATV Music Publishing, Director and former Chairperson of the Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society Limited (AMCOS) and the Director at the Australian Performing Rights Association (APRA). In addition, he is also the Director of the Australasian Music Publishers Association Limited (AMPAL) and Patron of the Australian Music Prize (AMP). Trotter is passionate about supporting indigenous musicians.

“I am very pleased and excited to be joining the board of the Gurrumul Yunupingu Foundation and humbled to have been extended the invitation by Gurrumul, Mark Grose and Michael Hohnen,” said Damian Trotter.

“Having spent time in several remote indigenous communities, I have witnessed first-hand the extreme challenges and disadvantage affecting so many people living in these communities. I look forward to working alongside my fellow board members to help identify and directly address areas in which the Foundation can play an active and realistic role in meeting some of these challenges.”

Monica Armesto joins Business Events Australia as Marketing Communications Manager

Monica Armesto has been appointed Marketing Communications Manager at Business Events Australia. She has a background in trade marketing and marketing communications, previously employed by Tourism New Zealand and Westfield. Most recently, Armesto was working for Tourism Australia as Project Manager for Restaurant Australia and International Operations Manager for Asia.

Dr David Panter chosen as ECH’s new Chief Executive

ECH has appointed Dr David Panter as its new Chief Executive, following the retirement of Rob Hankins after 14 years in the position. Panter has held various senior leadership roles in SA Health for over 10 years. Most recently he was Chief Executive Officer of the Central Adelaide Local Health Network and project director for the new Royal Adelaide Hospital.

In the UK, Panter was a member of former Prime Minister Tony Blair’s National Older Person’s Task Force for several years.

Dr Tom Stubbs, Chairman of ECH, spoke of the appointment saying, “David has unique experience as a senior executive in public sector health and community services at the national, regional and local level in both the UK and Australia. He has an outstanding record of performance in health and aging, most recently managing an organisation of more than 10,000 staff with a $1.5 billion budget”.

“His project leadership of the new RAH underscores his capacity to manage major infrastructure projects and private-public sector relationships. Above all David has a passion for the delivery of high quality services to the community.”
