The Coca-Cola Australia Foundation is inviting environmental organisations to apply for a new grant focused on tackling the issue of water security in Australia.

Submissions will be open from 16 August to 3 September with the successful organisation receiving up to $600,000 over a three-year period.

Funding is available to organisations that are working to address the issue of water security in Australia and developing solutions for the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all. Applicants for the 2021 Flagship Partner grant must have Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) Item 1 status and propose a program that addresses the issue of water security in Australia.

Additionally, they must also demonstrate how this program is a solution for the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all, and show how this program will help address the UN Sustainable Development Goal, Clean Water and Sanitation.

Malcolm Hudson, Coca-Cola Australia Foundation Board Chair said: “The Coca-Cola Australia Foundation’s mission is focused on creating a sustainable and bright future for all Australians and we look forward to supporting a new flagship partner to help them address the importance of water security in Australia.”

“The careful and efficient use of water is paramount to the long-term sustainability of the communities in which we operate and the natural environment we live in. Both Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Australia and Coca-Cola Australia have shared sustainability ambitions around water stewardship and improving water security for all where needed the most.”

This new grant is part of the Coca-Cola Australia Foundation’s Flagship round of funding and is in addition to the 2021 Employee Connected Grants Program. A total of 29 Australian charities, nominated by Coca-Cola Australia and Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Australia employees, have received a share of $700,000 this year. This will bring the total funds donated by the Foundation’s charity grant programs since 2002 to over $17 million.
