ACNC start date delayed

The ACNC Bills passed through the House of Representatives on 18 September 2012. The bills were referred to the Senate for further debate on 20 September and were adjourned once they reached the Senate.

It is expected that the bills will be debated during the next parliamentary sitting period, which is scheduled for early October.

The ACNC will begin to regulate charities shortly after the legislation passes Parliament.
