Associations announce new appointments

The Water Services Association of Australia has appointed Sue Murphy as its new Chair, replacing outgoing Chair Kevin Young.

Murphy is CEO of the Water Corporation of Western Australia and was awarded Telstra Business Woman of the Year in 2000.

The role of Deputy Chair will be taken by Jon Black, CEO of Unitywater in Queensland. Jon Black was previously CEO of the South East Queensland water distribution entity and held high ranking positions in the Australian Army.

The Australian Publishers Association has appointed David Barnett as Director of the Copyright Agency Limited‘s Board.

Barnett is currently the CEO of Pearson Australia and has worked in the educational publishing industry for the past 23 years. He is a member of the Australian Publishers Association Board and currently the convenor of its Tertiary and Professional Publishers’ committee.
