CEOs of business and power

The Illawarra Business Chamber‘s new CEO Mike Leask was previously Director of Membership and Commercial Relations at the Australian Retailers Association. This role involved promoting membership services to retailers, marketing ARA resources to corporate partners, seeking affiliations from like-minded employer groups and liaising with government officials.

“Mike comes to the Illawarra Business Chamber with the valuable combination of previously working in a member-based organisation and, earlier in his career, running his own small business,” said President of the Illawarra Business Chamber Les Dion.

“This combination means Mike has a real understanding of the challenges facing our members and how to support them as they grow their business.”

CEO of the Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association Prue Power has been made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in this year’s Australia Day honours.

Power set new standards for the working conditions and career structure of nurses under Federal awards, which set benchmarks nationally. Power has also been awarded Life Membership of the Australian Nurses Federation.
