A deliciously-memorable team building event

New team building company, Adventure for Life, has just delivered a remarkable event on the Bellarine Peninsula that is sure to be repeated at conferences across Regional Victoria.

The activity, known as Food-caching, involved teams from Australia Pacific Touring navigating their way around the Bellarine Peninsula picking up gourmet ingredients and returning to the Barwon Heads Resort at 13th Beach for a Masterchef-style cooking competition.

Food-caching allows delegates to fully experience the destination in a dynamic style: delegates visited many producers on the Bellarine Taste Trail as well as some of the scenic gems around Queenscliff.

Food-caching is ideal for any demographic. It showcases regions in dynamic style, encourages creativity, rewards attention to detail, and brings teams together for a wonderful self-prepared meal.

Adventure for Life has already received interest from the Yarra Valley and the Mornington Peninsula.

Changing the landscape: Chrysler Jeep Car Launch

In January 2011, for a brief moment in time, the Crowne Plaza Torquay re-badged to become Chrysler Jeep for their event “Chrysler Jeep Car Launch – The Landscape Will Change”.

Exceeding event organisers’ expectations, the event had more than 60 vehicles displayed, and included five training marquees on the foreshore with vehicle displays.

The event featured a gala dinner, a conference for 170 guests that included Australia-wide dealer principals, sales and parts managers, and they even had the Potbelleez performing at pre-dinner drinks.

Guests participated in a Golf Day at The Sands Torquay, and the event was also able to make use of the local Anglesea Proving Ground for their drive programs.

Zip lining action eco-adventure

Otway Fly Tree Top Walk has opened a new and exciting rainforest Zip Lining Adventure Tour.

Zip Lining is a relatively new action eco-adventure activity that uses cables suspended between trees throughout the forest. People are attached to cables as they zip through the canopy between nine ‘cloud stations’.

It’s an adrenalin-fuelled activity for delegates to take part in during their visit and also the ideal team building exercise.

A tasty trail

You might like to add the new Bellarine Taste Trail to your conference itinerary.

Featuring 32 product offerings from restaurants, provedores, wineries, farmgates and accommodation houses, the Trail covers towns across The Bellarine, including Queenscliff, Barwon Heads, Ocean Grove, Portarlington and Drysdale.

The Pier Geelong

Imagine uninterrupted 270 degree bay views glistening under the sun or sparkling under the city lights.

Located at the end of Cunningham Pier, a striking landmark located right in the heart of Geelong’s vibrant waterfront precinct, The Pier Geelong is a beautifully designed, versatile and comfortable function venue.

The venue can cater for 600–1000 guests and is also only a short walk to Geelong’s CBD.

Vue Grand, Queenscliff

Described as coming back to “wonderful life”, the iconic Vue Grand in Queenscliff is celebrating after winning several awards including Best Restaurant – Fine Dining, at the 2010 Golden Plate Awards.

The venue itself is unique with its Grand Dining Room, but their food sets them apart, particularly their five course local Bellarine Tasting menu featuring the best local Bellarine food and wine.

Football celebrity takes over at Barwon Heads Resort at 13th Beach

Former AFL champion with Geelong, Sydney and Carlton, Greg “Diesel” Williams, is the new owner of the stylish Hawthorn Suites at 13th Beach – now re-named the Barwon Heads Resort at 13th Beach.

Williams, whose own golfing handicap is a handy eight, plans to market the Barwon Heads Resort to the corporate conferencing market, as well as to weddings, and ‘stay and play’ golfing packages.
