Arthritis & Osteoporosis NSW has appointed Jannine Jackson as its CEO.

Jackson has had a long-term affiliation with the not-for-profit (NFP) sector having held senior level roles at the Sir David Martin Foundation, NSW Paralympic Committee, the Australian Paralympic Committee, Mission Australia, Australian Red Cross, and Westmead Children’s Hospital.

“Jackson is well known in the not-for-profit health sector, and her strong background and extensive expertise in both health services and fundraising is an ideal fit for our organisation. Her experience as a volunteer for a range of peak bodies, boards and organisations means she also understands how to mobilise from a grassroots level,” says Judith Cantor, President of Arthritis and Osteoporosis NSW.

“We look forward to an exciting new era with Jackson at the helm.”

Jackson is looking forward to leading Arthritis and Osteoporosis NSW into the future. “There are many opportunities and challenges ahead, and I am confident that, together, we can make a real difference to the many people living with these debilitating conditions”, says Jackson.

Jackson will commence her new role in September 2014.

The City of Sydney elects iconic television personality Melissa Doyle as its inaugural Christmas ambassador.

Host of Channel Seven’s afternoon news program, Doyle will head a campaign to promote events, decorations, digital projections and a concert to encourage more people to visit Sydney during the festive season.

“We’re delighted to make Melissa Doyle our inaugural Christmas ambassador. She’s an instantly recognisable and much loved TV personality and a former host of Carols in the Domain,” says Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore.

The Australian National Retailers Association (ANRA) said pre-Christmas shoppers and retailers would both enjoy a festive boost under the City’s ever-expanding program.

“With Christmas preparations well under way, more Sydneysiders than ever before are expected to take advantage of extended trading hours and the festive atmosphere around the shopping precincts,” says ANRA CEO Margy Osmond.

As part of her role, Doyle will host the Martin Place concert in late November and speak about the City’s expanding Christmas program.

“Sydney is such an amazing city and I’m thrilled to be the City of Sydney’s first Christmas Ambassador,” says Doyle.

MontroseAccess recruits Linda Apelt as CEO.

Apelt has more than 30 years’ experience in public administration and human services. She has been an Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences at The University of Queensland since 2003. Apelt is also an experienced company director in the corporate sector.

MontroseAccess President, Paul Bird said that Apelt was ideally suited to leading the organisation into the next phase of growth which includes transitioning to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in 2016.

“We are delighted that Apelt will be leading our staff, clients, client families, supporters and community into the NDIS model,” says Bird.
