New gender study to shed light on philanthropic donations

The purpose of this project conducted by the Australian Women Donors Network (AWDN) and the Australian Centre for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies (ACPNS) at Queensland University of Technology, is to map the current level of philanthropic investment in women and girls in Australia and assess the extent to which gender is recognised in mainstream grant-making in Australia.

Individual donors and representatives of philanthropic trusts and foundations are invited to participate.

The project aims to benefit the Australian philanthropic sector by encouraging donors to reflect on the role gender plays in their philanthropy and how it shapes philanthropic focus and outcomes. Research data gained will also serve to better inform philanthropic investment to women and girls in Australia, and through repeat instillations, track changes over time.

Organisations are encouraged to fill out the survey even if they do not specifically categorise or record grants according to gender.

The AWDN is offering participants in the study the chance to win a double pass to one of their upcoming events (valued at $400) in either Sydney or Melbourne (flights excluded). You will need to provide your contact details at the end of survey to be eligible for the lucky draw.
