Minister D’Ambrosio joined parliament as the Member for Mill Park in 2002. In 2006 she was appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Community Development and Victorian Communities.

During that time Minister D’Ambrosio worked closely with a wide selection of community organisations to strengthen and celebrate the diversity of Victoria’s many cultures and address disadvantage across the state.

“Lily has served a committed and impressive apprenticeship as Parliamentary Secretary in the Community Development portfolio since 2006,” Premier Brumby said.

“Lily is a great success story both in terms of multiculturalism and Melbourne’s northern suburbs. She is committed to building stronger communities that support and provide opportunities for working families.”

Prior to joining parliament, Minister D’Ambrosio worked as an occupational health and safety trainer for the Liquor and Hospitality Union and subsequently the Australian Services Union.
