Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation (SCHF) has broken its own fundraising records, raising an incredible $89.4 million in FY23 to support sick children and their families.

The outstanding total comes from 35,600 donors, with funds directed straight to the frontline and future of kids’ health across Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network, including The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Sydney Children’s Hospital at Randwick, Bear Cottage, the Newborn and Paediatric Emergency Transport System (NETS), and Kids Research.

This follows SCHF’s previous record of more than $76 million raised in FY22.

Kristina Keneally, CEO of Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation, shared that it is remarkable that the community of New South Wales has been so passionate and willing to get behind kids’ health in such an amazing way over the last financial year.

The impact these funds will have on all kids across our state and beyond being cared for by Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network will be extraordinary.

“Over the last year, we have exceeded our expectations across all our fundraising activities, including our world record-breaking $19.2 million success at Gold Dinner and $15.8 million for last month’s Sydney Sick Kids Appeal. We’re very proud that we’ve been able to do that in challenging economic conditions, and we owe it to the dedication of our incredible Movement of Many.”

Despite increasing interest rates and cost-of-living pressures, Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation shows year-on-year growth in Individual Giving. Small donations from everyday Australians and community fundraisers totalled more than $ 8.4 million, despite a nationwide trend of decreased donations in the Individual Giving sector.

Generous philanthropists – from all parts of Australia and all walks of life – have played a massive role in SCHF’s success in the financial year 2023.

Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation is one of the most trusted charities in Australia, the largest children’s charity in Australia, and one of the largest children’s hospital foundations in the world.

“We’re constantly focused on how we can raise more funds that will help take our children’s health services across NSW from the expected to the extraordinary,” added Keneally.
