Join leaders and experts of the third sector from professional and industry associations, member benefit organisations, community groups, advocacy groups, charities and foundations at the two-day professional development conference and exhibition Third Sector Expo 2013.

This highly-anticipated event will unite the sector in an ideas forum, professional development conference and exhibition. There will also be ample networking opportunities and a cocktail party, giving you a chance to mix and mingle with thought leaders and experts in the sector.

While an unlimited number of not-for-profit (NFP) organisations may attend the exhibition throughout both days, places are limited for the professional development conference, so anyone interested in attending is encouraged to book now to avoid disappointment.

Topics will include:

  • Strategic management
  • Advocacy
  • Technology
  • Membership growth and retention
  • Revenue strategies
  • Staffing and volunteers
  • ACNC and compliance
  • Risk management
  • Fundraising
  • Events

  • And more!

Speaker highlights

Michelle Trute, Chief Executive Officer, Diabetes Australia – Queensland

Michelle Trute has led Diabetes Queensland into a new phase and was recently awarded the Australian Institute of Management Award for Management Excellence in the NFP sector. Trute was instrumental in the adoption of a contemporary strategic plan that resulted in key performance indicators being met and exceeded over a three-year period, and 96.5 per cent of staff reporting that they understood how their work contributed to the delivery of the organisation’s strategic plan.

At Third Sector Expo 2013 she will be advising NFPs how they can create a contemporary, accessible strategic plan that has been written in consultation with the appropriate parties and is suitable for the environment in which it will be executed.

Sajid Hassan, Chief Information Officer, Lifeline Australia

Lifeline Australia uses technology to provide suicide prevention and crisis support. The organisation responds to approximately 550,000 calls and 25,000 online chats every year, with a large number devoted to suicide, self-harm and other serious issues. Technology plays a crucial role in making sure the system works and help-seekers are provided with utmost quality service.

Lifeline Chief Information Officer Sajid Hassan will be speaking at Third Sector Expo 2013 about the infrastructure deployment, reporting and analytics, redundancies and other system-related features that your NFP organisation can use to improve its systems and processes for maximum efficiency.
