Fair Work announces pay rises for third sector workers

The pay increases will be phased in over an eight-year period, with wages expected to rise by 23-45 per cent during this time.

The Federal Government has committed to providing additional $2 billion of Commonwealth funding to wage increases granted by Fair Work Australia and urges state and territory governments to fund their share.

According to the Federal Government, properly valuing social work and providing decent wages in industries dominated by women is an important part of keeping our economy strong and resilient.
