Impact Investing Australia announces Daniel Madhavan as its inaugural CEO.

Madhavan joins the new not-for-profit (NFP) organisation following 12 years working in various senior management roles at wealth management firm JBWere.

“Daniel has an impressive record as a leader in the financial services industry, coupled with a strong understanding of how capital can be used harness positive social outcomes,” says Rosemary Addis, Chair and Co-Founder, Impact Investing Australia.

“He brings a unique combination of industry knowledge and business development experience to the CEO role, which will be invaluable and complement our cross-sectoral team as we work to build the market for impact investing in Australia.”

Impact Investing Australia was established in early 2014 in response to an industry-identified need to provide leadership, demonstrate demand, and remove barriers to the impact investing market, which is estimated to grow to at least $32 billion in Australia within the next decade.

“I am looking forward to bringing my skills and knowledge across into a new arena, I’m coming from the oldest investment house in Australia operating in the most established markets, to one of the newest NFPs supporting the effort to build a market in its infancy,” says Madhavan.

Leisa Hart joins YMCA NSW as CEO.

Hart brings a wealth of experience to the organisation from her previous senior-level management roles at MAX Solutions, Mission Australia and KAZ Business.

“Hart brings significant skills and expertise to strengthen our organisation to ensure the ground work is done for us to continue to serve the NSW community for another 160 years,” says Marg Lennon, Chairman, YMCA NSW.

Ms Hart will replace Interim CEO Stephen Bendle, who has held the role since July. She will commence at YMCA NSW during December 2014. Bendle will continue in the role until this time.

Olivia Hilton to lead SVA Consulting.

Hilton has worked with Social Ventures Australia (SVA) Consulting for over five years, and led the Melbourne Consulting team for the past four years.

She has an extensive corporate background, as well as deep experience advising social purpose organisations, government and philanthropic trusts and foundations.

Hilton steps into the leadership role, having been a Partner in the SVA Consulting team for the past two years.
