Habitat for Humanity (HFH) welcomes new CEO Thomas who has had an extensive career within the not-for-profit sector spanning over a decade. Holding a Masters in International Relations and a Degree in Theology, he has held previous roles at World Vision and UNICEF, both locally and internationally. At World Vision, Thomas led the advocacy team, which spearheaded the organisation’s involvement in the Make Poverty History campaign. Thomas will make the move from his current role as General Manager of Sector Engagement at Mission Australia to HFH in mid-June.

Smith, The University of Western Australia Business School’s newly appointed Board Member currently holds the role of Country Chair of Shell Australia and Vice President of the company’s upstream operations in Australia and New Zealand. He holds an Honours Degree in Chemical Engineering from The University of Melbourne and a Diploma in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management from Monash University.

Professor Geoff Laurent steps into the role as Director at the Lung Institute with the focus on building and expanding the Institute’s research profile. Laurent is currently the Director of the Centre for Cell Therapy and Regenerative Medicine at the University of Western Australia and an Honorary Fellow at University College London. Previous roles have included Director of the Centre for Respiratory Research and Head of the Department of Internal Medicine at University College London.
