Moriarty takes over from Galbally at Our Community

Galbally had served as the CEO of the foundation for nine years.

Denis Moriarty, who held the position of COO, has assumed the position of Managing Director, which amalgamates elements of his and Galbally’s previous roles.

Moriarty was the former head of the Victorian Government’s Information Service, Managing Director of Strategic Australia Pty Ltd, a boutique management consultancy, and former Commissioner and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Victorian Tourism Commission. He is a member of several non-profit and private boards and in 2003 was awarded a Centenary Medal for his work in establishing Our Community.

Carol Schwartz AM remains the Chair of Our Community. Schwartz is president of the Melbourne International Arts Festival, a council member of the Australian Innovation Research Centre at the University of Tasmania, and Chair of the VicUrban Public Art Advisory Committee. In 2006, Ms Schwartz was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia for her achievements in business and commerce and for contribution to community and the arts.
