Social Business is a new monthly television program, aired every second Tuesday on Sky News Business channel.

The program, co-hosted by the Centre for Social Impact’s Peter Shergold and Sky News presenter Brooke Corte, aims to discuss key issues around social entrepreneurship, public and social innovation and the emergence of new social businesses.

In other social business news, Kinfolk, a new community cafe in the Melbourne Central Business District, has opened with the intent to share all profits with charities that address poverty in disadvantaged communities. To assist with start-up costs, the cafe received a $40,000 Community Enterprise grant from the Victorian Government.

Over the past four years the Victorian Government has allocated $14 million to support over 100 social enterprises through the Community Enterprise Grants program.
