Strengthening the NSW Community Services Grants Program

“It is an important program that has delivered a wide range of services to individuals and the community over many years, “says Annette Gallard, Chief Executive of Community Services.

Over the past few months, the Minister has held preliminary meetings with representatives from the CSGP.

“While the outcomes sought through these processes have not yet been achieved, the Department and Minister remain committed to strengthening and aligning the CSGP,” says Gallard.

The proposed way forward involves separating CSGP services into the two streams identified in earlier work undertaken on the CSGP:

• Services whose results have to do with ‘community strengthening’
• Services provided directly to children, young people and families.

Community Services will continue to update the sector on progress over the coming months.
