Thanks to the support of Platinum Sponsor Westpac and Gold sponsors bankmecu and R & G Technologies, one of the most highly anticipated events on the not-for-profit (NFP) calendar returns bigger and better in 2013.

The two-day conference program is filled with more than 45 NFP leaders and experts sharing their insights on a wide range of topics including governance, fundraising, recruitment, advocacy, technology, volunteering and more.

In addition to these integral conference sessions, delegates will have the chance to discover the latest products and services and ask questions to suppliers at the interactive exhibition.

Here are just a few session highlights delegates can look forward to:

Linda Lavarch, Chair of the Australian Government’s NFP Sector Reform Council

Esteemed Chair of the Federal Government’s NFP Sector Reform Council Linda Lavarch will review the Federal Government’s reform agenda and outline what’s on the horizon for NFPs in the coming year.

Jan Owen, CEO, Foundation for Young Australians

Owen is the founder of CREATE Foundation, the national consumer body for children and young people in out-of-home care. In 2000, she was awarded membership of the Order of Australia for services to children and young people.

Owen will explore the new face of advocacy by sharing some of the creative tools that young people are using to advocate for change.

Martin Tolar, Managing Director, Australasian Compliance Institute

When it comes to compliance, Tolar is the expert. He has led the peak body for compliance in Australasia for over six years and is also the chair of a committee that is currently developing a new international compliance standard.

Tolar will discuss the progression towards this new compliance standard, how the standard can be employed by NFPs and the characteristics of successful implementation.

Gregg Vines, Director of Public Engagement, Oxfam Australia

Vines has had experience leading high profile lobbying, awareness and fundraising campaigns across children’s programs and advocacy, social welfare, health and employment rights.

At Third Sector Expo 2013, Vines will explain how he mobilises and engages the public in support of Oxfam’s work.
